TRANSFORMERS THE MOVIE IN DEPTH pt TWO

Alrighty then! Here is the second and last chapter in the the review for the movie. Hope you find this informative.

Well Prime just died. I wonder something here...just where did Prime's spirit go to? It is clear that after a TF dies their 'spirit' or 'spark' leaves their body. First Prime is seen inside the Matrix itself in Five faces of Darkness when Rodimus was chatting with him. He is also seen as being out of the Matrix in 'Burden Hardest to Bear' when Galvatron tried to use the Matrix himself. But then the Qunits say that some lingering peronality traits are still present in his body in 'Dark Awakening' so therefore they reactivated him. Can Prime be in two places at once spiritualy? And when Kup asks Prime what happened to him after he died in 'Dark Awakening' , Prime says all he remembers is darkness. Doesn't he recall the conversation he had with Rodimus inside the Matrix? But then again we also have Alpha Trion who merged with Vector Sigma in 'Key to Vector Sigma pt 2'. So Alpha is a part of Vector Sigma as he speaks from it in the same episode. But later we see that Prime talks with Alpha Trion inside the Matrix in 'Return of Optimus Prime pt 2' and in the Rebirth. So I guess Alpha Trion has multiple spirtual personalites as well...

Well Prime's dead. Ultra Magnus is leader. Prime's body turns grey which I wonder: do all TF's lose their exterior color when they die? Starscream did after Galvatron blasted him and before he crumbled. But the Autobot fell out of his tomb in Dark Awakening' still had some color. oh well... Now we cut to deep space and see Unicron viewing the passing of the Matrix to Ultra Magnus. He screams out in anger. What's odd here is just how did Unicron get those images? does he have a camera placed right there in front of the Autobots? Not likely. But what is REALLY wierd is that the images Unicron recieves dies NOT match what really happend exactly. When Hotrod give Magnus the Matrix, Magnus holds it out towards the camera for a moment which never happened.

The Mutiny: Astrotrain is heading towards Cybertron. "Jettison some wieght or I'll never make it to Cybertron!" He exclaims. I always found this statement very strange. In space there is no 'weight' at all, only mass. Some Tf fans over the years think that Astrotrain and Starscream were in cahoots with each other to get rid of Megatron. Why? well lets quickly examine the evidence. First Starscream calls for a retreat at Autobot City. He orders Astrotrain to transform and get them out of there right after Megatron got beaten. Then Astrotrain asks to jettison weight when there is no weight in space. After all Astrotrain's quote is "In confusion there is opportunity". And here there was much confusion and a opportunity arises. Astrotrain and Starscream did team up once before in episode 'Triple Takeover' to get rid of Megatron. And who else is placing the crown of leadership on Starscream? None other than Astrotrain himself! Did Starscream promise him a second in command status if he would help get rid of Megatron? Chances are this is not what the writers had in mind but it's interseting to speculate nonetheless! Starscream being devious as ever, sees a grand opportunity here. The Decepticons take a vote for "survival of the fittest". I like how they voted. In times when they have no leadership they just simply take a vote like they did in Five Faces of Darkness once.

Well the healthy Decepticons kick the wounded out. Namely all the old guys who's toys are no longer marketable. Bombshell, Kickback, Shrapnel, Thundercracker, and Skywarp.....and of course Megatron. "oh how it pains me to do this!" Starscream smirks as he releases Megatron out the door of Astrotrain.

Starscream then nominates himself as the new leader which causes grief among the other Deceps. "Wait! The Constructicons form Devastator! The most powerful robot! We should rule!" Scrapper protests. Well technicaly Devastator is the most powerful robot there but not overall. I do recall Devastator getting his tail trounced on by Bruticus in 'Starscream's Brigade'. "Soundwave Superior! Constructicons inferior!" Soundwave says which is the only time in the entire TF run that Soundwave demonstrated any desire for leadership. Hook calls Soundwave a bore which isn't far from the truth. I can't imagine Soundwave being the center of attention at a party. Soundwave activtes his cassesttes and Frenzy yells "hey no one calls Soundwave uncrasamatic!" Funny how Frenzy mispronouced the word uncharasmatic like he misproniunced the word 'pulverise' in Five Faces of Darkness pt 1. In a early draft, Blitzwing says "I'm a triplechanger! I'm three times better than any one of you!' , but this line was ommitted.

The Constructicons form Devastator and get knocked apart by the vibrations from Rumble and Frenzy's pile drivers. Odd that Devastator can fit inside of Astrotrain like that as many fans over the years have complained. If you want a logical explantion then here's my best: In the first two seasons we see Devastator at many different sizes. He is able to pick up Optimus Prime in one hand in 'City of Steel' and 'The Core' but in 'Master Builders' he is twice as big. And we all know that Tf's can grow and shrink to different sizes. Heck Megatron can be three sizes: a small gun that a huiman can hold like in 'Day of the Machines' , a gun that a transformer can hold like Starscream does when he blew Ironhide and the others away and his full robot form. The Constructicons didn't form Devastator to his rightful size while inside Astrotrain because of room limitations.

The Decepticons fight which gives way to the old adage that there is no honor amoung theives. Nobody sees how this fight ends but it's clear that Starscream comes out on top since he is the new leader as he always dreamed he'd be since the first episode....

Next is one of the best scenes in the movie. Megatron and Unicron. Megatron is summoned by Unicron along with the other dying(or dead?) Decepticons. "I have summoned you here for a reason" Unicron says. "Nobody summons Megatron!" Megatron snaps. "Then it pleases me to be the first" Unicron responds. When I first heard that exchange I laughed. Unicron is clearly the one that's in charge here. Unicron makes a deal with Megatron to give him a new body and new troops to command in exchange that he destroys the Matrix. Rather foolish of Unicron to tell Megatron why he needs it destroyed. "Because it's the one thing, the ONLY thing that can stand in my way". He probably would have been better off if he kept that part to himself... Megatron rufuses then Unicron begins to destroy him. "No! I accept your terms! I accept!!" Megatron screams which is also the last words that Megatron would ever say..... Well the transformation is underway. Absolutely stunning animation and music makes this scene very powerful. Megatron is recreated into a more powerful being than before. "Behold- Galvatron!" Unicron gleefuly exclaims... the others: Thundercracker becomes Scourge Bombshell becomes Cyclonus Kickback and Shrapnel become Sweeps Skywarp becomes Cyclonus's Armada

Only two Sweeps?? In the third season at least 5 Sweeps are killed overall. They should have put the three Reflectors getting reformed into Sweeps to make up for the difference. And Cyclonus's Armada was only seen once in Five Faces of Darkness pt 5 at the seige on Cybertron and never again.

Many fans have written stories about the continuing adventures of Armada. I also want to point out that in a early draft, Unicron tells Galvatron that he is indestructable as long as Unicron exists. This line was ommitted as Galvatron was not indestructible as some think. Even one of the Sweeps gets blown away at Autobot City by Grimlock later on.

The Decepticon warriors are new beings unlike Galvatron who is Megatron with a new body. For example, Cyclonus exhibits none of the characteristics of Bombshell. Bombshell was always very rebellious towards the Decepticon cause and Cyclonus is fiercely loyal. As well as Thundercracker who was always a 'rank and file' Decepticon warrior who had deep seating feelings of doubt about the Decepticon cause and ecspecialy when innocent human lives were in jeporady. Scourge has none of that. But these Decepticons do remember their former lives. In Five Faces of Darkness pt 1, Cyclonus knows the names and functions of all the Decepticons. He even knows the two timing attitude that Swindle has when he comments about how the Scuzzoid would sell anyone out. In a early draft of the movie, when the Autobots escape Galvatron's clutches at Autobot City he yells "Dammit! They did the same thing to me at Beta Four!" Well Galvatron was referring to a event that happened to Megatron before TF the moive had taken place.

Well anyway Unicron provides the Decepticons with a new ship- the Steelhaven that they use after the movie in season 3 and 4. Somebody at the Marvel Comics office must have picked up on this and named one of the Autobot ships the Steelhaven as well.

Galvatron and the new Decepticons are off towards Cybertron.. On Cybertron we see Starscream's Corronation taking place. Starscream is drawn rather well here. Very Manga style. Not like the earlier part of the movie. His chest and arms are very stylized. I also lie the design of the imperial hall with the past Decepticon leaders and heros all lined up in gold statues. If you notice real carefully there is one place missing. For Megatron perhaps? The Constructicons are blowing the trumpets away which is sorta funny cause Mixmaster, Long Haul, Scrapper, and Scavenger do not have mouths. Astrotrain places the crown on Starscream and he begins his speech when Galvatron riding in Cyclonus blasts his way into everything. The Decepticons scatter and we see Thundercracker and other 'dead' Decepticons who shouldn't be there flee. "Who dares disrupt my corronation?" Starscream demands! "Corronation Starscream? This is bad comedy" Galvatron relpies. "M-Megatron? Is that you?" Starscream whimpers "Here's a hint!" Galvatron says as he transforms for the very first time into a very powerful cannon and shoots Starscream. A VERY cool scene of Starscream getting fried in beam of energy. I like how Astrotrain and Ramjet who where standing on either side of him take off.

In the original version of the movie Starscream gets electrifed and then truns grey and crumbles to dust which looks awsome. But in the new Kid Rhino version there is two seconds extra of Starscream getting zapped as beams of energy dance around him which is not in the original. This isn't worth the money to go out and buy the Kid Rhino version or anything but i'd thought i'd point it out.

Starscream crumbles to dust which is one of the best animated death scenes i have ever witnessed. He was king for just one day, poor Starscreamer... "Anyone else wants to fill his shoes?" Galvatron bellows. None wisely step forward. The Decepticons hail Galvatron as the new leader of the Decepticons. Unicron now makes his approach towards Moon Base one. I;m surprised that Jazz and Cliffjumper didn't detect Unicron approaching from miles away. Or at the very least SEE him I am also surprised that Unicron didn't tear apart Moon Base one because of his gravity like cybertron did to Earth in Ultimate doom trilogy. Uniron does have a gravity field of some type(maybe he just turned it off?) because at the end of the movie Unicron drops Galvatron into his mouth. Galvatron falls downward. As well as when Unicron is transforming, Galvatron gets thrown off a platform and falls downward to Unicron's surface. And the Autobots later on when the jump out of the Quint ship fall downward. So Unicron does possess some type of artifical gravity of some kind.

Well Unicron eats Moon Base one. Jazz and Cliffjumper radio for help at Autobot City but to no avail. They quickly make their escape on one of the escape crafts. Kinda funny this reminds me of episode 'Starscream's Brigade' in which Jazz and Cliffjumper were captured by the Combaticons there. "Got to blast free if we can! Ignition and hit it!" Jazz yells. "Jazz! We're not getting away!" Cliffjumper screams. Those were the last two statements made by both Jazz and Cliffjumper in the TF universe.

This event did not go unnoticed. Bumblebee and Spike on Moon Base two see this and report to Earth. Unicron makes his approach to the moon and begins to tear it apart with his powerful tractor beams. Before Bumble and Spike escape they set explosives to detonate the moon. They take off and escape as the moon explodes to high hell. But their actions were in vain because it didn't even scratch Unicron. "We're getting sucked back into it!" Bumblebee yells. Their ship gets sucked back into Unicron's maw and disapears.

"How dare Unicron! Cybertron and all it's moons belong to me!" Galvatron exclaims. When he says this, there is another moon in the background. This of course is a animation mistake but some fans speculate that Cybertron has moon than two moons since one is shown in Five Faces of Darkness pt 1 orbiting Cybetron as well. Galvatron recieves the first of the mind torments by Unicron for his brashful statement. Kinda like when you eat ice cream too fast and get that awful headache. heh. The Decepticons depart for Earth.

Meanwhile on Earth: The Autobots gather around Magnus trying to figure out what to do next. If you look closely Snarl is there although he didn't appear of the shuttle with the other Dinobots earlier. The Deceps arrive to attack! They got to Earth in record time since it took Prime all night and into the morning to reach Earth earlier. Autbots scatter as the Decepticons tear throught the place. Grimlock manages to destroy one of the Sweeps as it makes its pass. "To the shuttles!" Ultra Magnus orders. Kup, Hotrod and the Dinobots end up on one shuttle while Magnus, Arcee, Perceptor, Springer, Daniel, and Blurr on the other ship. What happened to Blaster? It would have been cool to have him along with his tapes but I guess he stayed behind to rebuild the city.

The Shuttles take off barely and Arcee just makes it onboard in a daring escape. In the early script, the Autobots go through a asteroid belt and blast asteroids that confuses the Decepticons scanners like Han Solo did in Empire Strikes Back. "Dammit! They did the same thing to me off Beta Four!" Galvatron exclaims. "Congratulations Autobots, we lost them so relax while you can." Magnus says. Kup starts telling old war stories to the Dinobots who love to hear them while Hotrod spars with a Auto-Combatant. I wonder if all Autobot shuttles have Auto-Combatants? It would give the crew something to do in those long trips in deep space i suppose...

Well it doesn't take long for the Deceps to find them as the Steelhaven starts launching torpedos at them. The two Autobot ships seperate and Kup and Hotrod crash on a metalic twisted planet which later in the third season we find out it's called Quintessa. In a first draft, huge robotic claws come up from the planet and crush the ship in two. Strange how never before the Transformers came across that planet as it is between Earth and Cybertron apparently. Magnus orders a 'emergency seperation' that sperates the main control cabin from the rest of the ship so they can escape. This was done once before in Dark Awakening as well but the escape craft look very different than this one here.

Well the Autobots set down on Junkion for repairs. Again nobody really knew about this planet or it's inhabitants. Perceptor did say "the planet of junk is in this vicinity." but you would think they would have star charts about it or records.

On Quintessa, Hotrod fights his way through a underwater madhouse with a saw blade for a hand. Since the Qunits were originaly a Aquatic race of beings this is why they have Sharkticon Guards and patterened Quintessa after a marine inhabitat. He finds kup at the mercy of a giant robotic squid. Hotrod fight the squid off and sees the battered Kup lying with his leg and arm torn off.

Back on Junkion the Autobots and Daniel in his Exo-suit begin repairs on the shuttle. I know this is very minor point but when Daniel first sees Junkion he whisltes and comments that thsi must be the junk capitol of the universe. When he wistles his lips don't make the movement that humans do when the whistle. In fact it doens;t look like he's saying anything. The Exo suit is Spikes design. It responds to the thinking commands of the owner. It can transform into a vehicle mode which we never get a good look at and it had guns as well as other welding and repairing tools for maintence. It also comes in both male and female designs to accomodate body measurments. I wonder..since Daniel is wearing a exo suit in the Rebirth and can transform into Arcee's head, can he still transform into the vehicle mode as well? That would make him a triplechanger headmaster if he could.

Well the Decepticons track them to Junkion after Unicron tells Galvatron he screwed up and Magnus still lives. The Autobots again scatter as the Deceps blow their ship up. We see Scavenger and Schrapnel land and corner Daniel. This is a clone of the Insecticon but not the original. The Insecticons clones were seen scarecly through out season three in Five Faces of Darkness pts 1 and 5, Fight of Flee, and Theif in the Night. The Autobots run for cover while Ultra Magnus tries to unleash the power of the Matrix. I doesn't work. The Matrix can only be opened at a certain time and for a certain occasion. This was not one of them as Magnus soon finds out. Th Sweeps blast Magnus and he explodes. The Matrix is now Galvatrons. In the original draft, the Sweeps draw and courter Ultra Magnus with tractor beams and rip him apart that way. This was deemed to violent and discarded. It still happens in the Marvel Comics adaption and even can be seen when the Sweeps first open fire. Their beams lock on and then the scene changes to magnus getting shot.

Cut to Quintessa. Hotrod is finishing the repairs on Kup. In a original draft of the movie, Hotrod didn't put Kup back together right and Kup later can escape out of the energy chains by being double jointed. This idea was discarded for the shooting draft. Hotrod and Kup begin to search for the Dinobots. Instead they come across a detachment of Skarticons guards. These Skarkticons are drawn differently than the other Skarticons that you can buy at the store. The reason is that the ones in the stores are warriors and are used for executions. These here are guards and used for recon. These here are also suppose to be smarter since they are higher in rank but little evidence here reveals any higher intelligence. In 'The Killing Jar' the Sharkticon guard portrayed there is smarter than the average Sharkticon warrior. In fact Hasbro personified the Skarkticon by giving him the name Gnaw and a Decepticon symbol, both which are not correct.

After running out of 'energon goodies' , both Hotrod and Kup are pounced on and taked to the main court where a small Autobot named Wheelie watches. Wheelie was a part of another Autobot convoy who was shot down and hunted down by the Sharkticons prior the movie taking place. Kup and Hotrod are bound in energon chains like Prime and the Autobots were bound in , in episode S.O.S. Dinobots. Rather ironic since in that ep, Prime was saved at the last moment by the Dinobots as well as Kup and Hotrod are too.

In jail, they find Kranix who tells them of Unicron and his planet of Lithone being detroyed. The guards then come and give Kranix and mock trial and find him innocent which means gulity then feed him to the Skarkticons below.

Outside Grimlock and the Dinobots run into Wheelie(whose voice is that of Frank Welker himself) and Wheelie informs them that their friends are being held captive in the Council Chambers. In the original draft, the Dinobots run into a Quintesson and the Quint tells them to go the Council Chambers but gives them the wrong direction. This is why the Dinobots come across those traps that Slag almost steps in. There were also few other traps set off by Swoop.

Now Hotrod and Kup are found 'innocent' which means gulity and are flung to their doom below. The energon chains phase away as they fall and once they hit they don't surface which was good since the Sharkticons always wait for the victim to surface before attacking like they did with Kranix. Instead they transform and create a tidal wave by racing around the pit and high speeds. Through the force of the wave they escape and begin fighting off the Sharkticons. I like how Kup grabs the tail of one of the Skarkticon and uses it as a mace. The tail is suppose to be used as a mace by the Sharkticon toy.

The battle is interupted by the Dinobots who crash the party. Grimlock demonstrates his superior strength and sends the Sharkticons to attack the Qunitessons. The Quints didn't build the Sharkticons to smart so they wouldn't develop a simulated intelligence like their first creations: the Autobots. But despite this, they rebel anyway. Wheelie shows them a Quintesson vessel and they are off to find thier missing friends.

The Decepticons on Junkion depart for Unicron. The remaining Autobots find Magnus in pieces and now have to fight the Junkions who are springing up all over the planet. The Junkions if you notice have red eyes instead of the typical blue eyes that all Autobots are suppose to have. This was done on purpose to throw the viewer in thinking that they were enemies. Not much of a deception since the Junkions have HUGE Autobot symbols on them. This would give way that the Junkions are Autobots themselves who in the distant past left Cybertron to avoid the war like Sandstorm and his people did in 'Fight or Flee' and how it was mentioned in 'Desertion of the Dinobots pt 2'. In this battle Springer uses his sword that he came with which is the ONLY time ever he uses it. Not to mention he transforms into his car mode which is something he only did once in Five Faces of Darkness pt 1 and never again. Not that it matters much since his car and helicopter modes look extremely similar.

The Qunitesson ship hovers over Junkion. One would wonder how Hotrod and company found the Autobots so quickly? Inside the cockpit we see very briefly that Grimock is in his robot mode. A rare sight since he spends pretty much all of season 3 in Dino mode to appeal to younger viewers. Hotrod uses the 'Universal Greeting' which makes the Autobots and Junkions friends. Now the Junkions do something that freaks out every TF fan by putting Ultra Magbus back together under 10 seconds flat and with a little shoe polish. Apparently the Junkion technology is based on limb seperation capabilites. Like when Wreck Gar gets his arm knocked off, it can easily be replaced. Since Magnus was in peices they put him back together as well as Springer in Five Faces of Darkness after he gets cut into shreds by the garbadge disposal. Still, that's a far stretch...

The Autobots know that the Matrix is gone and with the help of the Junkions they go after it. A Junkion ship arises out of the surface of the planet which later on looks alot like the SDF-1 from Robotech: the Macross Saga.

Meanwhile Galvatron tries in vain to open the Matrix to control Unicron which, big surprise, doesn't work. Unicron then proceeds to transform. A very nice and detailed transformation sequence it is. Better than that of Autobot City earlier even. Unicron reveals his true image of that of a monsterous robot bigger than any Transformer ever. If you look carefully at Unicron's face it switches models from a face without a beard and mustache to a face with one. Strange. Also Unicron's hands change shape as well from a hand with claws to a hand without claws and his fingers are squarish.

Unicron now launches his attack towards Cybertron with Shockwave in charge. Various unknown Decepticons scramble in every direction as Unicron smashes down on the planet. Galvatron seems to be very upset over this and tries to stop him. Later in the third season, in episode 'Chaos' it is Galvatron who attempts to destroy Cybertron.

Well tha battle is on it's way as both Autobots and Decepticons try in vain to defend their home. In this battle we see Thrust , Dirge and Ramjet clearly destroyed by Unicron as he bites down on them but they appear later on in the third season. As well as we see the Steelhaven getting destroyed as well.

Hotrod rams through Unicron's eye with the Quintesson ship and the Autobots embark inside Unicron. Odd since Unicron is shooting beams out of his eyes but when the ship crashed through we see that his eye is nothing but glass. This would also contradict a later episode of Ghost in the Machine when Scourge and Starscream steal Trypticon and Metroplex's eyes for Unicron and put them in place. Hotrod lands on a spike sticking out of a wall while the other Autobots are seperated. The other Autobots are chased by robotic wires and then Arcee shoots at them and cause a huge flood of Biblical proportions blowing them all away. This leads to Daniel finding Spike, Jazz, Cliffjumper, and Bumblebee on a conveyor of sorts about to thrown into a vat of acid to be melted down. This conveyor which holds the Autobots prisoner must have some sort of stasis field over it. Since Spike orders Daniel to actiavte the guns on his Exo-Suit to shot down the acid cover, why doesn't Spike just do that himself? Or Cliffjumper could activate his glass gas? At any rate, Daniel saves the day and his friends are rescued.

Now there is some faint speculation over the idenity of the robots that fall into the acid right before Daniel knocks down the cover lid. Some have speculated that this might Ironhide or Reflector and even Sludge. None of these are correct. Thses two guys were just created by the animators to show the audience what is about to happen to Spike and the others for effect.

Now Hotrod and Galvatron square off. A good fight in which Hotrod loses the advantage but makes a comeback when he grabs the Matrix and it opens which turns him into Rodimus Prime. Kinda funny how in the first two seasons, Optimus Prime is always called 'Optimus' or just 'Prime'. But Rodimus is never referred to as Prime but only once. And that was by Galvatron in episode 'Starscreams Ghost'. Every other time he is called Rodimus by his troops thus removing him further from the image that Optimus Prime carved out. Galvatron makes some feeble attempt to stop this from happening but Prime(ahem, i mean Rodimus) throws him out of Unicron and he tumbles endlessly off into space. In Five Faces of Darkness we see that he lands in a lava world called Thrull which the baths there make him even more powerful than before. Rodimus opens the Matrix fully and Unicron begins to self destruct all over the place. Daniel, Spike, and the others regroup with Springer, Arcee, and Kup as Unicron rips his own body open to try to get at them with his fingers(his fingers here have claws on them now when before they did not). Rodimus makes his entrance and orders the Autobots to transform and role out which was Optimus's old call sign. Something Rodimus never does again but ,oddly enough, Pipes does this in Five Faces pt 5.

The Autobots transform. Jazz transforms but doesn't do his little leap that he typicaly does which adds a little flair to the character. The Autobots bust out of Unicron's other eye and fall to Cybertron as Unicron explodes every which way but loose. His head ends up in orbit around Cybertron which makes for interesting sub plots in the third season.

"Let this mark the end of the Cybertronian wars as we march forward to a new age of peace and happiness!" Rodimus declares as Springer, Wreck Gar, Kup, and Arcee chant "Till all are one." The camera pans back and Unicron's head orbits Cybertron.
*fades to black*

Now some interesting points here before I finaly shut up. First in the original draft Kup says "Amen to that" after Rodimus speaks. The comic book version still has this.

Another thing. Rodimus ended the Cybertronian Wars which was a little premature. While Rodimus was in the Matrix in Five Faces of Darkness pt 4, Optimus tells him that the" Cybertronian Wars rage till this day". There may have been a brief pause between the movie and Five Faces of Darkness but the third Cybertronian war still rages onward. The Decepticons are far from beaten.

Some fans over the years always ask me why the voice actors for Gears, Inferno, and Dirge where in the credits. Well in the original draft, Dirge did have one line. Bud Davis who does his voice also does the voice for Metroplex and Predaking. Anyway, Dirge tries to jump Optimus from behind and Optimus elbows him in the face. This is why Optimus is bent over when he is talking to Megatron right before they fight at Autobot City.

Now for Inferno. Inferno never was suppose to be in the script and never was. Walker Edmiston does his voice and he fills in for other voice actors when they can't make it. Like he did the voice for Jazz in episode 'Kremzeek'. And he did the voice for Thundercracker in 'Wardawn' as well as the voice for Ratchet in 'Masquerade'. Walker did aditional background voices for the movie and was casted as Inferno in the credits.

Now for Gears. Don Messick does the voice for both Gears and Ratchet but neither of these two had any dialouge. But Scavenger did on Junkion when he accurately called Daniel a "human germ!". So therefore that's how he got casted. There was original dialouge written for Ratchet in one of the first drafts aboard the Lancet. The conversation went: Ironhide:" If I can dodge Decepticon rays, i can surely dodge a few ice chunks" (Ironhide was referring to the Asteroids) -A loud bang occurs outside the shuttle- Prowl: You were saying Ironhide? Ironhide: That was no asteroid Prowl... Ratchet: what was that? The shuttle's interior explodes inward. Brawn: Decepticons! And the scene carries from there.

Well there you have it..the review for the movie and I'd thought I'd never get done with it. This movie changed the TF universe forever and took it in a totaly new direction from the first two seasons. Excellently well animated and full of action, this a non stop roller coaster ride from beginning to end. Over the years since 1986 i never met a TF fan who hated it. Even in the next season of Five Faces of Darkness they matched the voice talents well with their celebrity counterparts with the exception of Galvatron.

Jack Angel replaced Robert Stack as Ultra Magnus
Dick Gautier replaced Judd Nelson as Hot Rod/Rodimus
Frank Welker replaced Leonard Nimoy as Galvatron
Tony Pope replaced Eric Idle as Wreck Gar
John Stephenson replaced Lionel Stander as Kup
Susan Blu remained as Arcee and went on to be voice director for Beast Wars
Stan Jones stayed as Scourge
Cyclonus never had any lines
John Moschitta stayed on as Blurr
Frank Welker stayed as Wheelie David Mendenhall stayed as Daniel
Niel Ross stayed as Springer
and Roger C. Carmel replaced Orsen Welles as Unicron and also did Cyclonus.

As for how much it took to make the movie, the budget ran almost 3 million dollars. Too bad it only grossed 5.8 million domesticaly. It's pretty sad when Pokemon the movie did 75 million and Transformers only did 6 million. sheesh, Ironhide must be rolling in his grave....

Well what else is there to say at this point? I'm sure most of you out there have backs that are aching from reading this for so long so I'll shut up now. And if you made it this far, then you have now become honorary Autobots like Spike and Carly did in Desertion of the Dinobots pt 2. Until next time....
